National Honors Society for Dance Arts
Movement on Main is a proud chapter sponsor for the National Honors Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) through the National Dance Educators Organization. NHSDA is a program dedicated to recognizing dance students for their outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in the field of dance. Movement on Main offers a Junior Chapter 6th-9th grade and a Secondary Chapter for 9th-12th grade. Students who participate in the program will be eligible to apply for a Scholarship after High School Graduation. These funds can be used toward any future endeavor such as a College or a Training Program.

Movement on Main will present "A Day at the Ballet: La Fille Mal Gardee," Sunday, May 19, at Secrest Auditorium at 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. performance. This family-friendly, classical ballet, performed by our dedicated local dancers alongside guest artists from BalletMet, promises a unique and enchanting experience for the entire community.
You can become a Patron of the Arts by purchasing 10 tickets to the show for $150. Your ticket purchase plays a vital role in supporting local dancers and will help establish the first National Honors Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) in our area.
The NHSDA will provide recognition to students who maintain a minimum grade point average, participate in community service, and show commitment to the dance arts. The NHSDA will also be providing scholarships to seniors who participate in the program beginning Spring of 2025.
