Recreational Foundations

TAP

Primary Tap (1st-2nd Graders): 

These fun, energetic classes are designed to develop self-esteem, coordination, and creativity in a fun, yet structured atmosphere. This class develops rhythm, coordination, and balance while working on basic tap technique and terminology. Imagination and musicality are encouraged class exercises. Students also lay the foundation for classroom etiquette and practice working as a team with friends.

  • Tuition: $48 per month 

  • Details: 30 minute class one day per week 

  • Studio Uniform: Purple leotard with attached skirt,
    Caramel Tights, Caramel Tap Shoes, and Hair in a
    Classical Ballet Bun. 

  • Additional Class Pairings: Fine Arts Club, Ballet,
    Acro, or Hip-Hop 

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital, Performance Troupe. 

  • Milestones: First year of tap. Performance Troupe option.  

 

Tap (3rd-5th Graders):

These fun, energetic classes are designed to develop self-esteem, physical fitness, coordination, and creativity in a fun, yet structured atmosphere. In this class students work on enhancing sound clarity and musicality. Basic tap technique and terminology is taught focusing primarily on single sounds. Students learn to work together through partner work, spatial patterns, and class exercises. 

 

  • Tuition: $48 per month 

  • Details: 30 minute class one day per week 

  • Studio Uniform: Dark Pink leotard with separate skirt, Caramel Tights, Caramel Tap Shoes, and Hair in a Classical Ballet Bun. 

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Acro, or Hip-Hop 

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital, Performance Troupe. 

  • Milestones: Can continue or add performance troupe. 

 

Tap (5th-7th Graders):

Increasingly complex steps and double sounds are added, while still working on clarity and musicality in the steps and combinations. This class focuses on performance quality, clean execution of sounds, and more complex choreography. 

 

  • Tuition: $48 per month 

  • Details: 30 minute class one day per week 

  • Studio Uniform: Teal leotard with separate skirt, Caramel Tights, Caramel Tap Shoes, and Hair in a Classical Ballet Bun. 

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Acro, or Hip-Hop 

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital, Performance Troupe. 

  • Milestones: Can continue or add performance troupe.  

 

Tap for Ballet Level 3: 

Advanced recreational students by placement 

 

  • Tuition: $48 per month 

  • Details: 30 minute class one day per week - advanced students by placement 

  • Studio Uniform: Green leotard with black shorts, Caramel Tights, Caramel Tap Shoes with heel, and Hair in a Classical Ballet Bun. 

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Acro, or Hip-Hop 

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital

  • Milestones: switch to black shorts in place of skirts. Can be a class or performance troupe assistant. 

 

Tap for Ballet Level 4/5:

Advanced recreational students by placement  

 

  • Tuition: $48 per month 

  • Details: 30 minute class one day per week - advanced students by placement 

  • Studio Uniform: Blue or Maroon leotard with black shorts, Caramel Tights, Caramel Tap Shoes with Heel, and Hair in a Classical Ballet Bun. 

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Acro, or Hip-Hop 

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital

  • Milestones: switch to black shorts in place of skirts. Can be a class or performance troupe assistant.

HIP-HOP

Hip-Hop (2nd-3rd Graders):

This high energy class teaches rhythm, coordination, and balance through age-appropriate movements set to fun upbeat music. Hip Hop instills rhythm and musicality. This style is upbeat and great for students who love to bust a move!

 

  • Tuition: $48 per month 

  • Details: 30 minute class one day per week

  • Studio Uniform: White Movement on Main T-Shirt, Black shorts or leggings, solid black tennis shoes with hair in a ponytail.  

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Tap, or Acro 

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital, Performance Troupe

  • Milestones: First year students are able to take hip-hop. Pairs well with the performance troupe and/or The Nutcracker.  

 

Hip-Hop (4th-6th Graders):

This  class teaches rhythm, coordination, musicality and age appropriate choreography. Our Hip Hop dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun. This is an excellent class for high-energy kids who want to take a fast and fun dance class while also creating an outlet for physical fitness and friendship.

 

  • Tuition: $48 per month 

  • Details: 30 minute class one day per week

  • Studio Uniform: White Movement on Main T-Shirt, Black shorts or leggings, solid black tennis shoes with hair in a ponytail.  

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Tap, or Acro 

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital, Performance Troupe

  • Milestones: Pairs well with the Performance Troupe, The Nutcracker, and additional dance styles.

Hip-Hop (7th Graders and up):

This  class teaches rhythm, coordination, musicality and age appropriate choreography. Our Hip Hop dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun. This is an excellent class for outgoing students who want to take a fast and fun dance class while also creating an outlet for physical fitness and friendship.

 

  • Tuition: $48 per month 

  • Details: 30 minute class one day per week

  • Studio Uniform: White Movement on Main T-Shirt, Black shorts or leggings, solid black tennis shoes with hair in a ponytail.  

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Tap, or Acro 

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital

  • Milestones: Students can be a class assistant or performance troupe assistant. 


 

ACRO

Acro Primary B (Kindergarten- 1st Graders):

In this level students will focus on preparatory stretches, body positions, jumps, rolls, cartwheel, bridges and the beginning principals of acro dance and its terminology. Curriculum is designed to improve fine and gross motor skills while developing strength, flexibility, and stamina while incorporating imagination and musicality. 

 

  • Tuition: $52 per month 

  • Details: 40 minute class one day per week

  • Studio Uniform: Purple attached skirt, bare legs, bare feet, with hair in a classical ballet bun.  

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Tap, or Fine Arts Club  

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital, Performance Troupe.

  • Milestones: First year of Acro. Pairs well with Ballet or Fine Arts Club. Students are encouraged to participate in The Nutcracker. This is the first year students can participate in a performance troupe.

Acro Primary C (1st-2nd Graders):

In this level students will focus on preparatory stretches, body positions, jumps, rolls, and expand upon cartwheels, rolls, and bridges. Curriculum is designed to improve strength, flexibility, and coordination while incorporating choreography, imagination and musicality. 

 

  • Tuition: $52 per month 

  • Details: 45 minute class one day per week

  • Studio Uniform: Purple attached skirt, bare legs, bare feet, with hair in a classical ballet bun.  

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Tap, or Fine Arts Club  

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital, Performance Troupe. 

  • Milestones: Pairs well with Ballet. Students are encouraged to participate in The Nutcracker and/or Performance Troupe.

Acro for Ballet Level 1A (2nd-4th Graders):

This class is geared toward current Ballet Level 1A students and recreational 2nd-4th graders. Students will lay a strong foundation of acro technique including strong posture, safe technique, and skill progressions. This class fosters strength, flexibility and coordination primarily through variations on balances, cartwheels, hand stands, head stands, and bridges. Students will practice group exercises as well as stations to progress their individual skills. 

 

  • Tuition: $52 per month 

  • Details: 45 minute class one day per week

  • Studio Uniform: Dark pink leotard, with black shorts, bare legs, bare feet, with hair in a classical ballet bun.  

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Tap, or Hip-Hop  

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital, Performance Troupe. 

  • Milestones: Pairs well with Ballet. Students are encouraged to participate in The Nutcracker and/or Performance Troupe. Students switch to leotard and shorts.  

 

Acro for Ballet Level 1B (4th Graders and up):

This class is geared toward current Ballet Level 1B students and recreational 4th grade and up. Students will build a strong foundation of acro technique including strong posture, safe technique, and skill progressions. This class fosters strength, flexibility and coordination primarily through variations on balances, cartwheels, handstands, head stands, and bridges. An emphasis is placed on clean technique as well as acro combinations. Students will practice group exercises as well as stations to progress their individual skills. 

 

  • Tuition: $52 per month 

  • Details: 45 minute class one day per week

  • Studio Uniform: Dark pink leotard, with black shorts, bare legs, bare feet, with hair in a classical ballet bun.  

  • Additional Class Pairings: Ballet, Tap, or Hip-Hop  

  • Performance Opportunities: The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital, Performance Troupe. 

  • Milestones: Pairs well with Ballet. Students are encouraged to participate in The Nutcracker and/or Performance Troupe. Begins more advanced combinations.
